Every run in Squad Shooter: Rook & Rex is Rook's run. He's the soldier your thumb steers, and the one the whole squad forms up around.
One thumb, two moves
- Drag anywhere and Rook moves. That's how you dodge.
- Let go and he snaps his rifle up and fires at the nearest threat, almost at once.
That's the whole control scheme. The skill is in when you stop and where: a short stop between dodges is often all it takes.
The leader of the squad
Rook never fights alone for long. Level-up cards recruit squadmates, and every rank in his squad makes Rook himself hit a little harder. Lead a bigger, better-drilled team and the sergeant gets stronger too.
What he wears
Rook's helmet, vest, gloves and rifle come from the Armory, and gear you find between runs makes him tougher and harder-hitting.
Next week: his best friend. Until then, play a round with Rook.
Squad Shooter: Rook & Rex is coming soon to Google Play and the App Store. Names and details come from the game as it is today and may change before release.
